A new chapter for our Internship Programme!
ADRIA Internship Programme was launched in 2019 as a pilot programme by EIT RawMaterials Hub Regional Centre Adria (RCA). The Programme is being implemented by one of the HUB partners - the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering (UNIZG-RGNF).
The programme has been carried out throughout 2019, 2020 and 2021 with the following key objectives: to improve professional opportunities for the students of sector related studies in the ADRIA region (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia), to enable early cooperation between the students and the industry, thus familiarising the future young professionals with real-life challenges, to establish valuable connections between the educational institutions and the industry, thus helping to build more market compliant educational programmes in the future etc. In these three years the programme has grown and faciliteted a matchmaking process between more than 50 studentd and 30 organisations.
Considering the success of the previously implemented activities, the potential benefits and an already established system for the Internship Programme implementation, UNIZG – RGNF has been focused on upscalling the Internship pilot Programme in terms of territorial coverage, support of the EIT RM labelled master programmes, number of students and organisations included in the Programme and the scope of the supporting activities.And we did it!
The new programme starts as an approved EIT RM KAVA project called RIS internship already from the 1st January 2022.Territorial coverage of the project will increase from West Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia) towards the whole East European RIS region, including Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Slovakia, already in 2022. During the project, about 367 students will conduct an internship in 300 companies.
