ORMOŽ IS BUILT MAINLY WITH THREE EXTRAORDINARY GOODS: WINE, UNTOUCHED NATURE AND PEOPLE.
The municipality of Ormož is part of Prlekija, a region between the Mura and the Drava. It lies between the Slovenian-Croatian border and Gornja Radgona and Ptuj. Ormož can be set up with three extraordinary goods: wine, unspoiled landscape and people. This is combined into wine culture, cuisine and customs.
Ormož covers a wider area with plains and hills. Archaeological discoveries make the place one of the largest medieval prehistoric sites. Its location above the Drava with its beautifully landscaped mansion, park, church and urban planning deserves a visit and a longer stop with a visit to the local museum collection. Many buildings are historically important, such as the Turkish, city and Hungarian gates. The park and green areas and the sports park with a swimming pool are beautifully landscaped. Many monuments are well maintained.
With numerous orchards, vineyards, cellars, cuisine, work in the villages, and especially with the arrangement of the road structure and the previously mentioned factors, even greater development opportunities open up, and with domestic and foreign visits, tourism gets its place.
Life there is beautiful in all seasons. In the spring, the hills tremble in the beautiful spring light, through the summer the leaves on the vines turn green, and under the sun's rays the grape berries quietly ripen into noble fruits. In autumn, when the vines are harvested, the wine cellars come to life, attracting tourists. There are quite a few tourist farms in the Ormož area, which offer tourists various delicacies, and some of them also offer accommodation.
One of the biggest tourist attractions is the Ormož wine tourist road, which runs through the Ormož hills and can offer tourists many pleasures if they know how to use them properly.
