NTUA, founded in 1837, is the oldest and most prestigious educational technical institution of Greece, with global reputation (Among the 500 best universities worldwide (QS 2020)). Today, NTUA operates as a Public University with 9 Schools. NTUA offers basic five-year Diploma Degree course structure, which is equivalent with the Master‘s Degree (integrated master), and 20 interdisciplinary postgraduate Μasters programs. NTUA has a total of 21.257 undergraduate students and 1.834 postgraduate students and 150 educational Laboratories More than 3.000 scientists are currently involved in NTUA activities including 409 Faculty members, 200 Teaching and Research Associates, 118 Technical Staff, 1504 PhD Students and more than 250 Researchers, among 150 educational and research Laboratories. NTUA is currently involved in 250 EU Horizon 2020 projects (ranked 10th among EU Organisations), more than 1500 on-going national and European research projects (1st place in Greece as Participant and as Coordinator), has 52 established Research Laboratories and awards 145 Doctoral Dissertations / year. The total budget sums to circa 150 M€. NTUA academic staff publish approx. 3000 publications with more than 50000 citations annually. NTUA has been an associate member of EIT RawMaterials since 2016, and acts as a core Partner as of 2020.
